Proud to be writing & shooting this series for Western Civ Magazine. Look for the next installment in a couple months. Click the image above to view the first article.
I have amazing friends. One of them is Meredith Carter.
When the tornadoes hit Alabama in April, Meredith jumped into action raising money for the relief effort. The product she sold to raise money was a very simple, very elegant silver necklace.
After the money was raised, she teamed up with a few other amazing people, and decided the money should go towards a big birthday party for the children who lost everything in the tornado. The Lost Birthdays.
I’m so glad to have been able to document the event. Here are 2 of my favorites.
Through a partnership with Cayenne Creative, I recently shot the UAB Annual Report for Nurses. The concept was “Not Just Another Nurse”, and it focused on telling the stories of how 7 individuals became nurses. Their stories absolutely blew me away.
I’ll be posting portraits at a later date.
It was all good until Butch got out his snake.
I also shot & edited this.

The Crum Family - 2009

Favorite family shoot, ever.

Great thing about old polaroid cameras and old metal film cameras: Kids love them, and they can drop with on the grass with no worries.

Make sure to check out their 8mm:

Matt Chancey for President

Matt Chancey is my brother.
Fact.
He’s running for President…of the Alabama Public Service Commission. This is a state wide office, which means the 50-60 people from Alabama who visit my site each day can vote for him.
Yay!
Matt called me about a month ago and told me he was running for this office. He followed by say, “Ok, I can either ask you to give me money, or some photography. Which one would you prefer?”
I love family.

Peace. - Caleb
P.S. I’m terrible at explaining what this office actually does, so if a certain THOMAS RICHIE has a few moments to spare, I would much oblige a explanation in the comment section.
